Hi,
Please help! My boss just gave me a Visio 2003 file that he got from
someone at a different company, which he needs to modify. He wants to remove
three elements from the background page: a text heading (I am able to erase
the text, if not the text box), a page number field, and a current date
field.
Like I said, I am able to erase the text from the one field but not delete,
or even completely ungroup the other fields (date and page numbering). I am
able to select portions of the background and remove protections
(right-click, format, protection, none, ok). Some parts can be ungrouped,
but not others ("shape protection and/or layer properties prevent complete
execution of this command"). When I click on View - Layer Properties it
appears that there aren't any layers. The date and page number fields are
autogenerating (it has today's date) but when I view the header and footer
there doesn't appear to be anything there either.
I am very new to Visio and have been struggling with the online help for a
couple of hours. Any help you could offer would be wonderful. I saw in an
answer to an earlier question something about checking to see if fields are
guarded??? I don't know if that would be applicable here or, if so, how to
find out or change the fields (or what to change them to) but just thought
I'd throw that out as a possibility.
Thanks!!
