Shape of photos in Word

Is it possible to make photos that were inserted into a document a different
shape? I would like to have circles or even rounded rectangles without having
to create that shape in photoshop first. I know I can fill the shape with the
picture, but that distorts the photo. Thanks!

It will not distort the photo if you are careful to give the AutoShape the
same aspect ratio as the picture or crop it first to fit the aspect ratio of
the AutoShape you plan to create.
