Shapes Disappear

I have created a drwaing in Visio 2000. It uses Cross Functional shapes and
has boxes overlayed on top of them.
Everything was working fine until I opened the file recently and the boxes
that are overlayed appear when opening and then they disappear off the screen
not to be seen again or accessessed. I have tried moving shapes forward and
backward, deleting the individual cross,functional shapes, but nothing seems
to help.

Anyone know what's happening?

If I remember correctly, there was a problem similar to what you describe in
Visio 2000 that was fixed in a Service Pack.

Thankyou kindly Mark. I had SR1 only. when i installed SR2 it fixed the issue
