Shape's text from database

How can I connect a shape's text to any database.
I need to display a text on the shape accordingly to a
text in database or excel file.

Hi Folks,

I'm trying to achieve exactly the same; could any of you guys put i
some more detail as to what you exactly put into place as 'custo
property'?

The way I understand is that you should put some code in place of th
text, that makes visio recognize what database field/cell it should pu
in place.

Only what and how?
I tried to put something in place like Prop.Custom_Field_1 one bu
apparently that is not working...
