When I enter text into a shape, it doesn't stop at the end of the shape, it
just keeps going on and on and on, even off the page. I need the text to
stop at the end of the shape. Can someone please help me with this? Thanks!

Graham Wideman has an excellent book, Visio 2003 Developer's Survival
Pack that covers how to fix text, either by adjusting the font size or
attampting to truncate the text.

This link should show you a google books extract for the section.

Thanks for the tip, however, I'm still having problems with text moving
beyond the shape. I'm pretty new at this and guess I need step-by-step
directions on how to achieve the results I'm looking for (i.e. click on
shape, then click on Window, click on Show Shapesheet, etc.). The part that
is disappointing for a "rookie" like me, is that when I'm in Visio, click on
the Help button, and type my inquiry/question, I get a multitude of subject
areas that do not pertain to my inquiry/question.

The help system in Visio has become worse with each new version.
Nothing is findable, I keep the developer help pdf files from Visio
2000 handy, easily searchable and easily browsed - perfect.

Anyway, select your shape,
menu Window -> Show Shapesheet
menu Insert -> Section -> Text Transform
and in the TxtWidth cell enter
=Width
