SHAPES

When I open a drawing file and select shapes, say engineering dimensions,
when I close the file and re-open shapes selected have gone, and I have to
re-select. How do I keep selected shapes with file? This does not happen
with all files.

if by shapes you mean stencils you might consider checking to see if the
workspace option has been checked on the document (there's a little pulldown
menu on the save button).
