Hello,
I took it upon myself to setup a price matrix for sales persons in my
company. The problem is that I am the only one working on Excel 2004 for Mac
in the company. Everybody else is on Excel for Windows.
I protected a spreadsheet so that only selected cells could be modified
manually. The other cells are either blank or have dropdown menus for
options. When I open the worksheet on my computer, the file is doing exactly
what I want it to do. When the Windows people try it, they get a message
that the file is protected and cannot change the appropriate cells manually,
nor can they change the options in the dropdown menus.
In the Windows version of Excel, there is the option to modify certain
ranges in the Protection worksheet section so this gives the ability to
change the values manually or choose between the options in the appropriate
cells. I got this from a colleague that protected the document in Windows. I
cannot find it in the Mac version.
Does anyone know how to do it?
Thanks in advance,
G
