Share resource between projects with different std cost

Hi all,

I'm a new member and I have a question for all. In my firm, I manage
projects with Microsoft Project Professional 2003. I share resources
between some projects with a resource pool but I need to assign a
different std cost of the same resource to different projects.
Is it possible? How could I do it?

Thanks in advance,
Matteo

Hi Matteo,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

From a Usage view, double-click on a task, and at the bottom right of the General Tab you can see a Cost Rate table selection. Back to the Resource Sheet view, double-click a resource and then the Costs tab. You will see you can have 5 different costs applied to each resource. So, give a resource the different costs on one of the tabs and then assign that cost rate table in the Usage view of the appropriate project.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

To chime in with Mike, the cost rate table allows you to create
different costs. Add the cost rate table field to either the
Task Usage or Resource usage view and then fill down the correct
rate table for the project.

Also, please note this newsgroup is going offline tomorrow (June

Hi,

THis, however, will only give a maximum of 5 rates. Using Sharer priority is unlimited.
