Thanks Stephan & Jim,
I'll talk to my isp..Today is the first time I FTP'd my
website back to my desktop adn received the same problem!
The site still is OKAY. Last year I tlaked to them &
they said they update their FP service extensions.
Yesterday I tried to back up the registry files..and
didn't. So today I tried to follow the sstring on
Knowlege base 298827.
Start, Run, open box typed "regedit", OK,HKEY-
LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsost\Shared Tools\Web Server
Extensions\Ports...(the files under ports did not say
port/LM/W3SVC...etc) Ichecked the all ports folder as
well. What was in the ports folder was ab(Default)
FEF_52....value not set.
Needless to say I couln't remove the 4
CacheMax...entries.

Anymore suggestions? 6/30/04
Thanks,
Mary Beth

And the bugs are also in the FP2002 SE related to shared borders & include pages
so make sure you (and your host) see & apply all
appropriate patches on your server from:
For the Host/Server running the FP2002 SE

For Unix server problems on the FP2002 SE see
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en- us;Q299360
The latest FP SE for Unix that fix the problems
(FPSE 2000 1.4 patch and an FPSE 2002 SR 1.1 patch)
are at http://www.rtr.com/fpsupport

For NT server problems on the FP2002 SE see
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en- us;Q298827
For FrontPage Server Extension 2002 Update - see
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN- US;q317296
and security patch

Never FTP a site that uses the FP SE
- the version you have FTPd to your desktop is corrupt
(shared border will be duplicated)
Open you online site in FP
File Open Web /Site and enter your URL as http://www.yoursite.com/
Then use Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks and File Publish (All)
(browse to a top level folder as a destination - say C:\MyWeb

While the online site is open in FP use Tools Web/Sites Settings to see what version of the FP SE your host is running and let us
know so we can verify if you host has updated them

Note:
If the shared borders in your new local site are duplicated you will need to delete the duplicate code
in Html/Code view and reapply your shared borders
