Shared Boarders not displayed

I'm doing a simple test page and I added shared boarders. It displays on
both htm pages in design mode only. Once in preview, they are gone. I
don't understand why.

Make sure you have first open a web (File Menu | Open Web / Site) before
working on your web content.

Yes I have done File|Open Site. It asks the question to add the appropriate
files. Afterwards, the folder displays the "Web" Icon in the windows
explorer.

Can you think of anything else?

And then you are also opening the web this way to work on your pages as
well?

FP should only prompt you the first time you open a folder to make the
folder a web, if it has never been open in FP before.

Yes, the creation of the web has only happened one time (the first time).
To work on my web, I also use File | Open Site.

Note:
FP2003 does not have an Open Web option. I believe the File | Open Site has
replaced this and is now a dual function for opening your site to work on or
creating the web when you first open the site. It appears that the "File |
Open Web" and "File | Open site" terms are interchangeable with version
2003.

Open Web, Open Site are one and the same. For whatever reason, MS decided to
rename many of the Menu options in FP2003 as compared to how they were named
in FP98, FP2000 and FP2002.

When you apply shared borders, make sure that it is set as the web default
or that you open each individual page and set it for that page only, which
defeats the main benefit of using shared borders.
