Shared Border Issue

D

Daver22

We are using shared borders on our site and everything works fine. Our
pages use Dynamic Web Templates to manage the layout.

On occasion, when we edit a page we get a extra line(s) which makes for
a blank space between our body and top border.

We have a shared bottom border too, but that never seems to change
size.

To fix, I have to open the top.htm file and backspace until I am at the
right most cell in the table that makes up the top border.

I would post code, but it is recalc'ing the site which takes 20+
minutes to complete. Then another 20 after we make the fix.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

If using DWT, then you shouldn't be using Shared Borders then, you could however use FP Include
Page.

So I would have to edit all of our pages to make it an include instead?
That is hundreds of pages. Any shortcuts or ideas?

thanks.

I am not aware of any short cuts, but it is only has to be done once.

Carefully check the code view of your DWT and shared border pages for a space or   inside of the editable region tag or end of
the shared border page

Put the include page in the DWT - then update all pages using the DWT.
A once only job that will take the same or less time than
recalculating hyperlinks.
Placing the "border" content directly in the DWT (either directly or
through an include page) will give you greater control over page
layout than shared borders ever will.
