( Help! I'm new) When I select shared borders in FP2004 :
1) Theme is not showing when I link to different pages
2) Please give me step by step of how to set up shared borders and save
3. In frames page the Navigation bar at the bottom is not seen in browser
4) Is it better to use frames or borders?

There is no FP 2004. What version of FP are you actually referring to?

I assume you're using FP 2003 (there is no FP2004).

Do you have a web open?

2) Please give me step by step of how to set up shared borders and save

Format Menu > Shared Borders. set the border(s) you want (left, top,
bottom, right) and select "all pages" or "Current page".
add the content in the border (shown in the normal design view as a dotted
line), that you want ot appear on al pages. Save the file, publish via
http:. You can publish by ftp but you must manually upload the borders
pages in the _borders folder, since shared borders make use of the FP
extensions.

3. In frames page the Navigation bar at the bottom is not seen in browser ????

4) Is it better to use frames or borders?

Probably better to use neither of the above - use the much better
alternatives: Include file component and/or Dyamic Web Templates.

Re: I'm sorry I did'nt expln (set up web page using frames). bottom frame

Here is my next obstacle. I found that I'm using FP 2000. I would like to
link an MSN map to website page but in the componet menu, there is no
selection for a map. How can I link it.

I am a beginner and becoming more comfortable with FP. I have existing web
site and would like to animate the banner ( give it a wave effect). How is
this done. Where do I start. I went to Jimcoadins. com and was lost with what
to do.

I made a graphic smaller to fit the area on the webpage but it is not clear.
What do i need to do to change it?

Hi Bianna,

You will have much better results if you use an Image Editing program
(PhotoShop, Paintshop, PhotoImpact, etc.) to size and optimize your images.
When you have the image finished to your liking..then import it into your
web..and from there insert into your page.

It's best not to resize images within FrontPage itself.

When graphic was selected on the webpage, handles or squares appeared that
allowed me to adjust the size.

Ok, that's not a good thing to do because you are forcing the browser to
resize the image.

Go here: www.irfanview.com and download and install the free IrfanView image
editing program.

Run IrfanView and open the image in it.
Use the resize/resample feature and resize the image to the actual size you
want on the page.
Import the new image into your website and then link to it.

time i selected it i got a pop-up window

2) I downloaded Swishmax to create flash files for fp2000 but when I
inserted to webpage i get "this mutimedia file format is not supported".
This is the file:
File/swishmax/swishgraphics/topbanner. html ---what am i doing wrong? or is
this program not compatible. If not please suggest other flash media i can
easily use with fp2000 as i am new at this but loving it. Thanks

And all i want to do is copy the graphic in the top banner of existing

webpage and animated it and put it back where it was. I was able to do that
but it was to small. I am using the swishzone software that you recommended.
I am a beginner at this so please make the steps simple.

What Flash animation software do you recommend for FP 2000? Also other than
30 day trials, are there any to download for free?
