Shared calendar needs to sync all entries every time

Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

One day all my entries in the shared calendar was gone, and Entourage needs to sync all entries from scratch which takes about 45 min, which is frustrating. This happens every time I restart the computer (iMac Intel). The mail isn't affected. Old mail stays in the computer. My colleague, who sits next to me, doesn't have this problem. We have the same computers, same configurations, are connected to the same network. I haven't touch the preferences in Entourage and my account in the Exchange server haven't been changed. What to do? Delete a preference file or do I have to reinstall Office 2004 from scratch?

If you see this in just one or a handful of folders then right-click or
Control-click that folder, select Folder Properties and click the Empty
button to empty the cache. You can also select the account itself and
empty the cache for all of your folders.

Hope this helps!

I didn't help to empty the cache in the Calendar folder or the account. But then I noticed that the calendar wasn't in my Favorites folder. So I created an alias by ctrl-click on the Calendar icon and Add to favorites. That did it! Now all the events stays in the calendar after a restart of Entourage. Somehow the calendar in the Favorites view have accidentally been moved.

Ah, you're referring to a public folder calendar. A "shared calendar" is
a completely different type of calendar that is shared from another
person's Exchange account.

Now I know that I have to be careful with the terminology ;-). I didn't know that you could share your private calender, though. But you're right; it was the public folder calendar I was referring to.
