Shared Calendar showing all day appointments as 2 days

Thanks in advance for any advice or help...

Description of Setup:

We have multiple offices across the United States and one person created a
Calendar with various meetings and events in it. This person is on the east
coast so everything is in the Eastern Time zone. She shares the calendar with
someone here on the West Coast and all the times get converted to Western
Time zone (which is how it is suppose to work).

Problem: The problem is when all day events get shifted from eastern time to
western time, they span 2 days ( 9pm to 9pm)

Again this is a shared calendar so I understand the time shift is correct
BUT all day events should stick to the DATE not the 12am-12am time block.
PLEASE HELP! =)

This particular design flaw has been with Outlook since the beginning
and Microsoft has not yet addressed the problem.

There doesn't seem to be much in the way of a workaround either.
