Shared database

Ramo

User created a database in local drive, she has given
access to some users to update parts of the database, she
said when these users accessed this database, they were
required to login, (she set this up, she does not want
anybody accessing the database)

Now, user moved this database to a shared Network drive,
When she clicks on database, she is required to login (she
is admin), but other all users can access the database and
not required to login.
we use win2k and access 2000

thanks in advance, new in access

Each PC that uses Access has a default workgroup information file. The other
users are joined to that default. The lady who created the database is,
however, joined to the workgroup information file that she created when she
secured the database. She needs to create a shortcut for the other users
that points to that workgroup infromation file (which she should place on
the shared network too). The general syntax for the shortcut is:

"FullPathToMSAccess.exe" "FullPathToDatabase.mdb" /wrkgrp
"FullPathToWorkgroup.mdw"

Further to Lynn's response, since they are using their default system.mdw
file and are able to even open the database, then it wasn't secured properly
to begin with.
