Are there any known issues, conflicts, errors of any description of various
users using FrontPage 98 and FrontPage 2003 to publish on the same
server/website (version MS IIS 4.0) ?

I don't know which server extensions are installed.

I can tell you that IIS4 is no longer supported. And if you don't know what
server extensions are installed, it's very hard to help you;.

And, yes, there could be issues, but, without specific information from you,
it's hard to tell.

I have discovered that the servers are running version 98

The _vti_inf.html file returns
FPVersion="3.0.2.1706"
FPShtmlScriptUrl="_vti_bin/shtml.dll/_vti_rpc"
FPAuthorScriptUrl="_vti_bin/_vti_aut/author.dll"
FPAdminScriptUrl="_vti_bin/_vti_adm/admin.dll"

There are features of FP2003 that will indeed not work with FP 98 server
extensions.

Thank you for your reply. I understand certain features will not work without
the 2002 server extensions (I assume it is custom features rather than basic
functions) At present I have noticed no problems with publishing to the same
sever for basic htm pages. What I was looking for was something 'under the
hood' Perhaps either applications causing problems for the other. Possibly
the server throwing an error because of two different versions accessing the
same server. It seems with the current Win98 Server Extensions I am able to
publish, check hyperlink status, - the basic stuff without any problems. The
only issues I have noticed so far is FrontPage 2003 seems to suffer timeouts
on the server whereas FrontPage98 dosen't. I believe ( I maybe wrong here)
when it comes to a network user, FP98 uploads changes from the local drive.
FP2003 uploads from the users profile cache and that cache resides on a
network. This roundabout way of publishing I assume contributes to the
timeouts?
