Shared services admin page missing

PS2007 SP2 FebCU and WSS 3.0 SP2 FebCU
Installed PS2007 and migrated data on a new dev server with win2k8.
Everything is running good and i even got through the migration. However, i
cannot build cubes. The error says that it cannot connect to the analysis
service Db, then below that is says "provider cannot be found..."

I used the technet guide in addition to MSProjectExperts Implementing and
Administering MOPS2007 to retrace my steps and it appears that I've not
missed any steps.

I then noticed that my SharePoint Services Provider admin site is no longer
accessible, when i try to access it directly, IE gives me an error saying
that the page cannot be found. In the Manage this Farm's Share Services
page, i see the site and i click the drop menu beside the site name and
choose edit. WSS then gives me an error saying that the site GUID###...
cannot be found.

I dont know enough about SSP to know if the problem is related to my Cube
building issue. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Ok so I got my shared services provider site back. Some how it was
associated with another empty content database. I discovered this by
querying the sites table in the all of the content databases in SQL to see if
i can find the GUID for the missing site. I did find it in a different
content database. So, from the Central Admin site, I removed the empty
database and added the correct one to shared services. Now i can access the
shared services provider website.
How did I end up with three content databases??? How many should I have? I'm
confused :( lol

I still cannot build a cube either.

Glad you figured it out. From a DB perspective, off of the top of my head,
typically you'd have the following:

1) SSP = 1 db
2) Central Admin = 1db
3) PWA = 1 db (although arguably, you could actually split this into three:
top level site, PWA, project workspaces)

ok, based on your reply, I think i am good. Not sure how or when I created
the empty DB(at least it appears empty). Thanks for your reply.
