On a client network, if I have a workbook on a network
share everything is fine. If I make it into a shared
workbook then every time I try to save to it the file
is deleted and a temporary file replaces it.
This happens on both (Win 2K) servers on the network
in question. It is not related to any particular work-
book, any one that is not shared works fine, any one
that is shared fails.
Interestingly it only happens if the workbook is
accessed via a network share. With a copy of Excel on
one of the servers I can make the workbook shared and
then use it just fine in a directory on the local
hard disk. *But* if I leave the workbook in the same
directory but share that directory and then access the
workbook from the same server, logged in as the same
administrator, it fails.
Any ideas would be welcome.
