SharePoint 2003/2007 with Project Server

I understand Project desktop applications only talk to their same year Server
counterparts.... 2003/2003 & 2007/2007. With Server you cannot mix desktop
2003 with Server 2007, or vice versa.

I am wondering if the same is true between SharePoint and ProjectServer. Do
I need to be concerned with P2003S on a Sharepoint2003 or 2007 installation?
Conversely, if someone installs P2007S will that play nice with Sharepoint
2003?

Does anyone have a recommendation on placing Sharepoint and Project Server
on the same box? There are some people here in this office kicking around
some ideas for a future project and this subject came up.

There are a few discussions around this on this group.

In a nutshell: Project Server 2003 is compatible with WSS 2.0 and
Project Server 2007 requires WSS 3.0/ 2007.

The Project Server 2007 installed installs WSS 3.

Trying to get anything else to work will be an uphill battle.

Perfect. I'll pass along the information that they should keep 2003 across
the board or move to 2007 across the board. They have Sharepoint 2003 now,
and no version of Project server. It looks like the cost effective solution
is ProjectServer2003 since there are thousands of Project 2003 Prof desktops
throughout my customer's enterprise. It think the 2007 Project refresh will
be a couple years out.
