sharepoint columns

I created a form in Infopath and I published it to a sharepoint document
library. When going through the process I added every field on the form,
that i could to be available as a column. I'd say there were about 50.

Also I set it up so that the form gets launched from one folder and then
saved in another. I don't know if that's the reason I'm having this issue or
not.

To provide a little detail. I wanted the users to be able to go to a
library and fill out a request form but I didn't want every user who went
there to see or have any access to their form (or any other) once the request
has been submitted. This is why I have it saving to another document library.

However when I looked at the columns in the "submitted forms" document
library I didn't see any of the fields from my form.

Any idea what the problem could be?

Hi Don,

I have not tested this but it sounds like the behavior you are seeing is
indeed caused by storing the forms in a different library. For testing
purposes, set it up so the form is saved to the same library...what is the
result now?

Thanks,

Hi Don,
There was a post on this yesterday titled "Adding a column to a SharePoint
library" ... you need to resave your forms to the form library after setting
up the columns. The column properties are only shredded on save of the form.
Here's more info from the post:

"What you'll need to do is resave back all of the XML forms so that they
will be properly shredded. If you have a lot of forms, this can be a hassle.
If you find yourself taking a lot of time doing this, you may want to
evaluate the cheap tool at
http://www.infopathdev.com/webstore/detail.aspx?itemid=16 ."

Good luck,
Patrick
