SharePoint connection problems

Hi All,

I’m having a problem establishing a SharePoint connection: “There
is a problem establishing a connection with the Web server running Windows
SharePoint Services. Contact your system administrator."

Reading the Administrator’s Guide, I found the following note on the page 126:

“You can only connect to a server running Windows SharePoint Services if the
language pack and the project template are identical to the language used by
Project Server 2003. In addition, the language used in Internet Explorer must
match the languages of both Project Server 2003 and Windows SharePoint
Services. For example, if Project Server 2003 is deployed with German as the
base language, then the server running Windows SharePoint Services and
Internet Explorer must also use German.â€

I have a small-scale deployment with Project Server and Windows SharePoint
Services on the same server. On this server, Windows Server is deployed in
English, but both Project Server and WSS are installed in Portuguese. In
addition, I use Internet Explorer in Portuguese. I think this configuration
may be the cause of the problem.

My question is: Is there a way to circumvent this problem without installing
a portuguese copy of the Windows Server on the server?

hi,
i get the same error, but i have all instaled in spanish. i don't understand
anything, because i can reach risk page, issues page, document page.
the only way to "repair" this error is running the pscomplus.exe at the
server. i run it and i don't get any error. but i'm not able to run it
everyday...
what is happening???
