Sharepoint Designer 2007 Trial Version Interferes With Validation

B

Blogister

I downloaded an Office2007 trial and also SharepointDesigner2007.

(Prior to the trial I was running OfficeXP Pro & Frontpage2002.)

But after I downloaded the SharepointDesigner2007 software, I can no longer
download templates for Word2007. I get a message that tells me that my
SharepointDesigner2007 cannot be validated (or that it may not be valid). It
says that there is no product key.

But I downloaded all the trial programs directly from microsoft.com sites,
so they must be genuine.

As to the product key, I got trial keys for the Office products, but I did
not get a key for SD2007. Instead the trial seems to restrict the number of
times you can open the program.

This is very frustrating and makes me think the Microsoft programs don't
work well together in the 2007 suite.

You should have gotten a key for the SPD trial. However, it won't
matter, because no Office 2007 trial version will validate. So even
without SPD, your Office 2007 trial won't validate.
Only non-trial versions will validate (but if you have one trial version
installed, validation will fail).

Sorry,

Thank you Patrick.

I got a key for the office programs, but not the SPD. Instead of a time
frame for a trial period, it seems to limit usage to the number of times you
open the program.

The other programs seem to validate fine though. And if I delete SPD, then
I have access to the online templates again for Word. It is just a pain to
delete it and reload it again.

Go back to the trial site and try to get a key for SPD again. The number
of times restriction is in place until you enter a key.
