Sharepoint Designer Beta 2007

Friedi

We are trying out the beta Version from Sharepoint Designer - more or less we
got a Website designed, which we could publish with the provider or
Webhostservice , as we do not have our own server.

We would like to store a few files in zip format within the web, which
clients could download. Can we do this with Sharepoint Designer - and if yes
where could I find some kind of dynamic web template including a download
command/button?

Thanks for any input

You can create a zip file using Windows and then upload it using SPD.
After that, you just need to create a hyperlink to that file using SPD.
Note btw that SPD is targeted at Sharepoint server sites, not general
websites. For general websites, you should use Expression Web.
The current beta of Expression Web, beta 1, cannot be installed on the
same computer as Office 2007 Beta 2. You will have to wait for Office
2007 Beta 2 Technical Refresh to be able to install EW Beta 1 on the
same computer as Office 2007.
