SharePoint Designer Templates

There is a category called "Templates" in the "New" dialog box of SharePoint
Designer. However no templates are displayed in it. The templates we save are
stored in the "My Templates" category. What are the "Templates" category used
for? Does it contain any in-built templates? If yes, how to access them?
