Sharepoint - document uploading problem

I'm using Project 2002 and Sharepoint attempting to get the document
uploading feature to work.

When I create a subweb for a Project, I now have the ability to upload
documents to it. If I upload a document to the subweb by using the
Sharepoint server's internet address, I can upload successfully. If I
upload a document by using the Sharepoint server's intranet address, I can
upload successfully.

Here's my problem: if I upload a document to the subweb via PWA (in other
words I use Project Web Access, then click on the documents option, and
select my subweb...) I get an error that says "an unknown error occurred in
updating the Project Server database because Sharepoint objects cannot be
saved." The ironic part is that the file IS saved to the server and is a
fully usable file. Please help me!
