SharePoint Justifications

[SharePoint newbie...]

I am a newbie and have only seen SharePoint once....
My question is can anyone point me to justification literature for
purchasing, configuring, and deploying SharePoint? Any websites out there
with this kind of info that is free?

If you have Server 2003, Windows SharePoint Services is a free download. If
you want SharePoint Portal, that costs.

Try this web site http://www.wssdemo.com/default.aspx. Although I haven't
poked into all corners it does have useful information. If you are using the
free sharepoint download then it is a great tool and can be given to users
with little training.

we don't have either yet, but I am planning to justify and gain approvals
to purchsase a suite of tools that match our new methodology. This solution
is tops on my list for analysis.
I did not know that WSS is a free download if I already purchased Server
2003.

Yes I was also wondering about training on sharepoint and glad to see
that I do not have to plan on costly training. thanks!
