I'm in the same boat you are. For myself, I prefer the SharePoint over
Expressions even though I don't intend to use it on Sharepoint sites. It
has a few more features in in than Expressions, like "Preview." Both are
described by MS as for "Professionals."
For the less savvy folks, I am a bit stumped.
There is the Visual Web Developer 2008 Express Version Beta 2 which is
described as for hobbyists and home users. Give it a whirl at

I don't think that any of the the MS offerings are as good as FrontPage.

But the development team I think is down to one who is crying for help.
The last release was a year ago. It is simple to use. You should try it.
It checks documents in and out using FTP pretty well. Still, it ain't FP.
