sharepoint service access error

C

cjupiter

I have recently changed password policies on our sbs 2003.

The sharepoint user's password expired, so now i get the following error
when i log into PWA.

"There is a problem establishing a connection with the Web server running
Windows SharePoint Services. Contact your system administrator."

Is there a way of fixing this?

Hi cjupiter,

Is your SharePoint Service account under the same password policy as
your user accounts?

If so, then do the following:

1. Open the SBS Server Management console.
2. Click Users and right click the name of the SharePoint Service
account and click Properties.
3. In the Properties dialog box, click Account tab and under Account
options, check on the following settings and click OK:
User cannot change passwords
Password never expires
4. At the Server Management console, right click the name of the
SharePoint Service account and click Change Password.
5. In the Reset Password dialog box, type the same secure password when
you originally created the account and click OK.

If you still have a problem "establishing a connection" then you can
either reboot the SBS server OR execute an IISRESET.exe from a command
line.

Please let us know if this works for you

Cheers,
