Sharepoint Services with Project Server

We wanted to install SQL server then Sharepoint services so we can Index Search and then put Project Server on top. Is this a problem? and what is the best order to do things in?

There's a very good Installation Guide from Microsoft on the microsoft site
for installing on a single server.

The order it gives is WSS; SQL Server; Project Server 2003 if I remember
right (certainly PS2003 at the end), but look at it as the paper was
extremely useful when I set up my (test) Project Server 2003.

Hi,
I am pretty sure that you should install SQL and set up the needed
useraccounts for windows and SQL BEFORE you start installing WSS and later
Project Server. Remember to run WSSWIZ before installing Project Server. I
had some Problems later when I forgot the Wizzard.

Good Luck!

Paul is correct.

But just to clarify the procedure, you will need to do the following:

1. Create the windows service accounts
2. Install SQL Server
3. Install SQL Server - Analysis Service
4. Create the SQL Server login account with Security Administrator and
Database Creator permissions
5. Assign the windows service accounts to the proper groups
6. Install IIS 6.0 with ASP.NET and Active Server Pages
7. Install WSS
8. Install WSSWIZ.exe
9. Install Project Server

Good Luck

I thought 3. was not necessary ...

(But this time I checked :) )

(Not necessary, mbrunst, unless you want OLAP)

That's true. But doesn't everybody want executive bling-bling ;-)
