Sharepoint Site

Hi

I have created a sharepoint site with all of the document libraries that I
would like to have for a project related site. Every time a new project is
published a sharepoint site is created. I would like this site to have the
document libraries and layout. Can that site be saved as a template to be
used for all new project sites?

Thanks & Regards,
Jaya

I'm not 100% sure that I understand your question.

However you can create Site Templates to use as a base for all future
published projects.

1) Create a new Project to be used as a template. Configure it to your
requirements
2) Publish site to project server
3) Make all the changes to the Project Workspace, including adding a new
Sharepoint site and configuring the document lists etc.
4) Save the Project Workspace as a Template, including content
5) You then need to save this stp file from project server to disk.
6) You now need to add this template to Project Server through dos
7) run stsadm -o addtemplate -filename "name.stp" -title "title"
8) perform an iisreset
9) log back into project server
10) delete your template workspace (otherwise no project can be published)
11) Change the workspace provision settings to user the template
12) Create a new Test Project and Publish it
13) Check the results

Sorry if some of the points are a little vauge, however my PS Image does not
want to play ball tonight

Hope this helps

Hello Jaya,

You have to save site as template. This site template file need to
be deployed on Project Server to show up in dropdown under Site
Provisioning Settings for new site creation process.

I am not sure which version of Project Server you are using. Please
refer the instructions as below:

1) Project Server 2003:

http://www.epmcentral.com/articles/wss2-sptcustom.php

2) Project Server 2007:

Please use Scenario 2 in following URL

Thanks
Chak

Hi Chak,

Thanks for your Reply!

Once the site is saved as a template, will all new project sites use that
template?

As soon as a project is published, a new site is created. I want that site
to have the same features as in saved Template.

Thanks & Regards,
Jaya
