Sharepoint Template changes + existing project workspaces in PS

Okay, so I had about 300 projects in project server and they are based upon a
sharepoint template that needed to be updated adn changed. The template has
now been udpated. When i enter in a new project, it takes the new template
and it's great. However - my issue is with the existing projects which are
still using the old WSS template -- how would i update the existing projects
with the new template without losing all of the entering of the projects i've
done ...also if any docs have been uploaded to the workspace tehy will be
lost won't they? Please advise - thank you

Hi Erin,
Bad news I'm afraid. Existing project sites continue to use the template
they were created with. The only way to update them is manually. Have
experienced this myself :-((
I wonder if MS have addressed this in the 2007 release??
Cheers....Geoff

Geoff,

Thanks again for the response - I have figured it out. I just go to the
Admin link - the manage windows sharepoint services - then manage sharepoint
sites -- i can then grab the existing project site and delete site -- then
the entry stays in there and i just highlight it again and choose create site
= then it applys the new template that the new projects are now taking on --
big downfall of that interface though is that you have to select one at a
time although you can highlight them all you can't delete/create site for
them all at once. But thank you so much -- i have also double checked to
make sure nothing in the proejct template has changed -- values, enterprise
features, etc -- and this seems to be a go :)
Happy sat today!
