SharePoint URL

I went to Manage Windows SharePoint Services in PWA to change the URL from
the server name to the new DSN name, i.e. http://zxprod11:11279 to
http://epm.projectserver:11279 for the central admin url and the same thing
but with :80/sites. However, when I click save I get a dialog box saying
Project Server cannont connect to the specified web server running WSS.
Please check the HTTP protocols and the port numbers in both URLs. I've
tested both URLs and they both work. I clicked on test url and the central
admin page comes up. Any help will be much appreciated, thanks.
