SharePoint UserName

Hi

I am using Infopath 2007 and Moss 2007. I saw the UserName function and was
excited - only to find out later that it still gets the windows user and not
the sharepoint user. When I go to my sharepoint site from another user's
machine (sign in as a different user)- I still want to see my name populated
on the form. Currently it populates the logged in windows username...

Am I missing something?

Thanks
Kalpana

What type of authentication are you using? If Integrated, your
windows username is passed to sharepoint.

If FBA, you'd need to provide some sort of mapping from the FBA name
to the Windows name, then write a web service to get the value.

It is windows authenticated. But when you use the sign in as different user
and you upload documents - you get the new user name right? If so, why can't
i with the Infopah UserName functionality

Thanks

Not sure.
Things to consider:
1) Are you using IP Forms service, or the client?
2) IP relies on internet explorer security settings for login, so you
may want to look at the User Authentication settings, specifically,
logon related items.
3) IE7 is supposed to provide some improvements for IP2007.
