SharePoint - view-only datasheet view ?

I've got a list setup to require content approval and I guess that's
what make the datasheet view read-only.

The information in MS Help says this following could be if the
"view-only" message is displayed:

"The list is set up to require content approval, and you are viewing
the list in the All Items view".

Well, darn it, even when I switch to another view other than "All
Items", the datasheet view is STILL view-only.

Please fill me in on how I can require content approval AND be able to
edit a list in datasheet view.

Any list that has content approval enabled will be read only when in data
sheet view even to the adminstrator

You are not doing anything wrong ... the standard view allows for this basic
workflow to occur .. a datasheet would bypass this process and make the
items immediately available.

I realise this does not resolve your problem but at least you know it is by
design
