Sharing a workbook in Sharepoint or another web-based doc mgmt sys

We use a shared workbook on our server very successfully.

Will this feature still work if the shared workbook is placed in a
web-enabled electronic document repository such as a sharepoint document
library or in a third party web-enabled document repository such as
Documentum, OpenText, OpenEDMS, and the like?
