I've been creating Access mdb's and accdb's for clients for many years, but haven't done any in the last few years. I recently had a client needing changes to an app that was created in Access 2003 and needed to make some changes 15 years later. At the time, I was running Access 2016 and the changes made in 2016 would not allow the app to run in 2003.

I'm considering updating to Office Professional Plus 2021 or 2019. Will this cause the same problem using Access 2021 giving it over to a 2013, 2016 or 2019 version of Access, or have the newer versions "fixed' the ability to run the app on older versions of Access? Or, Am I just better off using my older version of Access hoping that those versions will continue to work with the newer versions of Access?

Thanks for any advice,

Using Access 2021 might cause compatibility issues with older versions like 2013, 2016, or 2019. It's safer to use your older Access version for changes to ensure compatibility across various client versions.
