sharing address book

We have set up a LAN at home and would like to transfer
the contacts from the address book on the desktop to the
address book on the laptop. Both are Outlook 2002.

Is this possible?

Yes. Just be aware that Outlook doesn't use an address book. All your
Contact information is in your Contacts Folder which is part of your
Personal Folders (PST) file. If all you need is Contact information, then
export your Contacts Folder to whatever file format you want to transfer.
If you want to transfer all your Outlook information, it's best just to copy
and reuse your PST file rather than export. Exporting always leaves some
information behind.
