Sharing Address Books Merged into Outlook 2007 from Groupwise

S

Sarah G.

We recently migrated our e-mail system from Novell Groupwise to Outlook 2007
using an Exchange server, and I have two problems regarding shared contacts.

1) I can see the shared address books in my Contacts listed under People's
Contacts, but they do not appear in the Address Book. I also cannot view
those shared contacts when I create a new e-mail and hit the To button.

2) There are distribution groups in these shared contacts, and I cannot send
send an e-mail to the group. The only way I can even send an e-mail to the
contacts in the shared lists is to right click on the name and go to Create,
New Message to Contact. This only works for individuals.

Is this a permissions issue? Will I have to get editorial permissions and
then somehow send the shared contacts to my contacts before this will work?

The shared contacts are in other people's mailboxes? If you could put them
in public folders you can make them address lists which will be selectable
using the To button.

Task trying to perform: Forward an Outlook distribution List to another
employee.
While in an already built distribution list in Outlook, I normally
could select Actions, Foward, and type in the email address of the person I
wish to forward it to. For some reason it didn't work today. The 2 other
employees that forwarded a DL to me, it worked.

(Has nothing to do with this thread)
Correct method: Insert DL as an Outlook Item in a message.
