Sharing and Unsharing

I am creating a spreadsheet to be used by multiple users on a network
and set a workbook to be shared, then noticed I needed to make some
changes. I tried to unshare this file and found I could not doe this.
Is there a way or a different process for saving a file to be shared
so that the author can make changes to the sheet afterwards?

Is the workbook protected?
Choose Tools>Protection>Unprotect Shared Workbook
Then unshare the workbook.
