sharing BCM

Hi,

I just purchached office premium 2003.

Few questions:

I want to put pst files and BCM database to shared folder at XP pc
acting server. Can I do that and use outlook over network with that
shared file? The idea is to put all data in one place and be able to
access that from another pc.

Or do I need additional software (server etc.) to be able to work with
shared resources?

Business contact manager gives me only one place to put that database.

You cannot share a BCM database or specify its location.

You can put the .pst file on a shared folder, but only one machine at a time
will be able to use it, and access across the network is an unsupported
configuration. (READ: Data corruption may occur.) Outlook can't share its
files directly. See
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011477571033.aspx for an
article by Outlook MVP Eric Legault on various ways to share Outlook data.
YOu'll also find a list of third-party sharing tools and other information
at http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/share.htm.

that it cant be done with this software?

Shared database is a feature of the BCM v2 beta. You could try
contacting Microsoft to get on the beta program, or wait until the
retail version is released to customers later this years.

You cannot share a BCM database

I thought that was pretty clear.
