Sharing calendar items

My employees and I are able to share calendar items by
email in Outlook 2000 but not in Outlook 2002. We would
like to upgrade to 2002 or 2003 but must be able to email
calendar items to each other so that they appear properly
on each others calendars. Is there a way to make this
work?
