sharing contacts & calendar not using exchange

I know this is a frequent question and I've looked over the information
at the slipstick website, but was hoping maybe there was some "better,
more recent" information it was missing.

I would like to share my calendar & contacts on my office computer with
my wife's computer at home using outlook 2003. Neither of us use
Exchange (obviously).

I DO have a website I can use as an ftp server if an intermediate server
is needed (linux & apache based).

I found a 3rd party program called 4Team for Outlook that looked really
nice, but $100 (2 licenses) seems really steep for something that imho,
should be a feature builtin to OL to begin with.

Do you have a home network? If so, you can share the data provided only one
of you at a time runs Outlook. Let me know and I'll post the instructions
(since I've posted them to this newsgroup multiple times and Google Groups
can find them for you if you look before responding, if you'd like to take
that route, please do. Otherwise, I'll post tomorrow).

Yes, I do have a home network (a 24 port gig switch, patch panel, etc).
The home network has a DSL connection to the outside world (always on).
But note that the sharing I want to accomplish is between

my computer at work
my wife's computer at home
