sharing contacts

My wife has a laptop and I have a tower computer. We both use Microsoft

Windows XP Professional (Service Pack 3), and Microsoft Office Outlook

2003 (Service Pack 3). We are connected through a workgroup and

share/synchronize files; however, we each keep a separate Outlook.pst

that contains each of our emails, contacts, and calendar entries. We

would like to be able to share a single contacts file, as it is a pain to

make updates in two places. How can we do this? Thanks for your help!

There are no "contacts files", per se, in Outlook. All your mail, calendar
event, contacts, etc. are kept in the same file. If you want to share some,
it's possible by creating a PST containing a contacts folder on a network
share, but you can't both access it simultaneously.

Thanks Brian. Can you suggest an alternative to our current XP Pro / Outlook
2003 setup that might work better for us, such that we could access our
contacts simultaneously? Regards, -Michael

You need back-end software like ShareO (although that's not the only one
available). http://shareo.4team.biz/
