I am running into an issue where PC people are trying to share Excel
files over our network with MAC people. We work in a large
environment with a server running MAC IP. Therefore we have one
server that both PC and MAC people can see and write too. However,
whenever an Excel file is created and saved by the PC people to this
server, the MAC people are unable to open it. Whenever they click on
the file, it comes up with an error "The file cannot be located, make
sure the spelling is correct...." I know there is nothing wrong with
the file types because both environments can email back and forth the
same file and both can open fine. I did notice today that the files
are showing up as Microsoft Excel 3.0 under the KIND column on the
MACs. This is even after re-saving the file and specifying a
different file type. Does anyone have any suggestions why this
happens? Or perhaps you've seen this before in your own environement?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
