Sharing Folders on a network with Outlook 2002

With Outlook 2000 running on 2000 Professional I could share and syncronise
the calendars of the two computers on the network (in the same building and
hard wired network) With Outlook 2002 installed as part of a package with an
HP Ipaq hand held, this is no longer available. What is wrong? is this a con
to get me to buy Microsoft Exchange? what is the fix?
