I have an database that was created by another user. They have apparently
used the Security Wizard to set permissions for entry to the database.
I have access to the 'secured.mdw', 'snapshot' and can enter using any of
the predetermined users.
What I want to do is share the database with existing users on new
computers. What I thought I should do is make a copy of the frontend and put
it on each of the new computers and refresh the tables to the PC on which the
backend is hosted.
However, I cannot gain access to the frontend (error - insufficient
privelages) in order to copy it. The only way to get in is through the
shortcut on the desktop which will ask me for a username and password.
Like I said, these are all existing users (so there is no need to change the
permissions) and I need to only give them access to the database.
What should I do?
THANKS!
