At work we are running Outlook on Windows. At home I am running
OS9 on an iMac. Can I access the information in my Outlook
programme at work (e-mail, contacts etc.) from home? What software
would I need at home and/or at work?
Hi Len!
There are a few of ways to get access to your work email from home, but it
will all depend on how your network administrator has configured things.
You can use Virtual Private Networking (VPN) to access your company's
network through the Internet. The software and settings you'll need should
be available from your network administrator if he allows this.
Or you may be able to use Outlook Web Access (OWA), which is a web version
of Outlook that you use through a browser such as Internet Explorer or
Netscape. Again, you'll need to contact your network administrator to see if
he has this enabled.
And if you have dial-up access to your company's network, you can dial in
first and then access the resources on the network. And again, you'll need
to contact your network administrator for access and information on how to
do this.
Hope this helps! bill
