Hi Ann,
If it's a boxed retail copy of MS Office the same
user can install the software on a desktop and
a laptop, except for the Office Student & Teachers
Edition (only one machine).
If it's an OEM edition it's licensed to the first machine
where it's activated and can't be transferred.
The license agreement (EULA) is in the help files
of your Office apps.

I thought I read somewhere that you could install the
software from your PC to your notebook to use while not
using your PC.
Can anyone tell me if this is correct or tell me where I
might find additional information on this topic?
