sharing office program

I've been trying to setup our home network so we can share
Microsoft Office. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I
checked the box to share but it doesn't show up on my
son's computer. Can anyone help?

Office cannot be shared except through a terminal server with the
appropriate licenses. It must be installed locally if you are not using a
network with TS.

Just to reiterate what Milly has already told you, sharing Office across a
network, without the appropriate number of licences, is a violation of the
EULA. It can be installed on a server, providing you have the appropriate
number of licences. The EULA for the retail version states that it may be
installed on "ONE desktop and ONE portable as long as they are not in
simultaneous use". The Student and Teachers Edition is a one system at a
time jobbie, and the OEM is forever tied to the system it came with (or the
first system it's installed on, in the case of a licence purchased with
other hardware and that system must be the one said hardware is installed
in/on).

Any number of the same type of system (i.e. 2 desktops or two portables)
requires a licence for each. You will need to purchase an additional licence
for your son's computer.
