Sharing Outlook Task folders between different versions of Outlook

I have a mixed environment with some users on Windows XP with either OL 2K or
OL XP, and other users going to Vista with OL 2007. The problem is that we
have a staff attorney's office which created task folders with different
cases (and the attorneys assigned to them) that they need to "share" with the
Clerk's office. If you have older versions of OL you could attach the folder
as an .XNK attachment and the other user (assuming they have OL 2K or XP)
could save to their desktop and then drag to their shortcut bar.

Unfortunately, OL 2007 will not allow these types of attachments as it now
allows you to share task folders. That works great if both users are on
2007. Problem is if you use OL 2007 to share with users of previous version
of OL, you get a permissions error message (regardless of permissions).
Another issue is there is not a way to "share" task folders in the same way
using previous versions of OL.

I have tested this and verified permissions, I even tried adding the other
users mailbox so that I could view just the shared tasks folder but it would
not allow me to expand the mailbox.

Here is my question: How can a user running Outlook XP share a task folder
with a user running Outlook 07? Or if a user has a previous version of
Outlook where the task folder is on their OL shortcut bar, is there a way to
drag that so it is in their inbox? IF it is in their inbox, then that is on
the exchange server and they should be able to see it regardless of version.
At least that is my understanding.

Thanks much,
